Moutet’s textile journey began in 1874. Jean-Baptiste Moutet purchased Le Bon Coin and established the Au Coin de la Rue draper’s shop in Orthez, southwest France. In 1913, after acquiring four hand looms, Jean-Baptiste Moutet began manufacturing cattle blankets. In 1919, inspired by the cattle blankets, the production of household linens began. Now 100 years old, the company is managed by Benjamin Moutet, 5th generation. Moutet engages talented young designers, creates linens made in Orthez, and is dedicated to passing their expertise to future generations.
